Welcome to the Overnight Camp Specific page!
Here you will find all city specific training information and dates, instructions/ links to sign-up for trainings, information on role specific meetings, how to request time-off and more.
Kidventure takes prides in making sure all our staff feels prepared and ready to knock camp out of the park. Trainings are a HUGE component of our staff’s preparation and success at camp. It is what affords us the ability to function so well as a team and walk into the summer prepared. Not so much prepared for you, but prepared for the campers that are waiting to meet you.
You have a unique opportunity. You can choose to train like a champ, or coast and do the bare minimum. If you choose the former, you’ll potentially change the life of someone in need. If you choose to coast, you’ll do little for anyone. What will you choose?
We strongly advise all staff to check this page regularly to stay updated on training dates and information. All of the following trainings are mandatory, but some components have several options. Please read closely and complete the applicable training within each training component that corresponds to you!
Here’s how it works…
Trainings/meetings are required from all Kidventure Summer team members. Kidventure offers multiple dates for staff to choose from for trainings like 1st Aid/ CPR and Abuse Prevention. However, most other trainings are unique in that they will only take place in the reserved date and time. We ask that all staff reserve the dates and times announced for their respective required trainings, so that they may be the most prepared for camp. Additionally, we strongly encourage all staff to complete trainings as soon as they can (as applies) and not wait until the last minute.
All staff are required to be 1st Aid/ CPR Certified and attend one of our Sexual Abuse trainings (Virtus or Safeguarding). Additionally, depending on your role, you may be required to attend additional role specific trainings/meetings. Find your role in the table below to learn what your required trainings for this summer are:

ONGOING LEARNING
We’re excited to see you grow! You will find that this job is as challenging as it is rewarding. There will be good days and bad days, but you are here because we know you have what it takes to change the lives of our campers. In turn, we believe in making this experience more than just a job for you. The learning does not stop after trainings are completed. Kidventure has checkpoints in place throughout the summer to ensure that your experience with us is as professionally productive, growth inducing and fun a possible.
Read below about our checkpoints in place to encourage ongoing learning!
Every site conducts a meeting 2 weeks after the start of camp. The purpose of this meeting is conduct positive and focused conversation with all site staff members to learn from the great and not so great moments that took place the first 2 weeks. The goal of this meeting is to walk away with a plan on how to move forward and improve to ensure we are providing our campers with a quality camp experience.
